About Me
Hello! I’m Lucy — a passionate and qualified primary school teacher turned private tutor, dedicated to helping children thrive academically and build confidence in their learning.

With three years’ experience teaching in a local primary school, I understand the importance of personalised, one-to-one support. I now focus exclusively on tutoring children aged 4 to 9, tailoring each session to suit their individual strengths and areas for improvement.

My qualifications include a Level 3 Childcare certificate, a degree in Early Childhood Studies, and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). These credentials underpin my commitment to delivering effective, engaging, and supportive tuition.

I specialise in helping children improve in:

Reading
I support children in developing strong reading skills, from phonics and decoding to fluency and comprehension. Whether your child is just beginning to read or needs help understanding texts, I use tailored activities to build confidence and a love for reading.

Writing
From forming letters to constructing sentences and storytelling, I help children develop clear, confident writing skills. I focus on grammar, punctuation, spelling, and creative expression to ensure your child can communicate their ideas effectively.

Maths
I provide targeted support across all areas of primary maths — including number work, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and problem-solving. I use practical methods and visual aids to make maths understandable and enjoyable.

Science
I encourage curiosity and understanding of the natural world through fun, interactive lessons. I cover key science concepts suitable for primary-aged children, fostering both knowledge and scientific thinking.
